No rest for the wicked as VEC line out in the Knight Cup semi-final on Wednesday! 5 days after securing the Challenge Cup 21/22!

Full focus will be needed as VEC face incredibly stern opposition in Lourdes Celtic; a footballing side who came within a whisker of taking all 3 points when the VEC visited in the league earlier in the season.

🔹️Action & Celebrations🔹️ From Saturday 🔹️Action & Celebrations🔹️

From Saturday's titanic battle with high flying Tallaght Utd in the Challenge Cup Final.

🔹️🔹️🔹️

VEC tore out of the traps and dominated the opening exchanges, deservedly taking the lead through Skipper Seamus Staunton. It then went from bad to worse for Tallaght as 2 quick yellow cards saw them reduced to 10 men before half time.
However, Tallaght held out at 1-0 until the half time whistle and came out after the break throwing caution to the wind and put in an exceptional 10 man performance. The VEC defence stood strong though and a top notch save from a Tallaght free kick was as close as the battling 10 men came to an equaliser.

FT: Tallaght 0 - 1 VEC

Goal: S. Staunton
Assist: Jefferson De Castro
MOTM: Dan Smyth
