Wing wizard Tshepo Montsho bagged a hat-trick on Saturday morning to kick start VEC’S Division 1 campaign!
The lightning fast South African opened his account midway through the first half to give VEC a deserved half-time lead and then added two more as we extended our lead in a comfortable opening day win.
Our front three were a constant thorn in Shelbourne’s side, with veteran striker Joey Byrne laying on an assist for Tshepo either side of the break. While Paddy Cooke threatened in behind at every opportunity.
The visitors struggled to mount any sustained pressure throughout and a high defensive line was left exposed too often with VEC regularly capitalizing on quick transitions. Frankie Nolan added the 4th as the game opened up late on.
