In the first league match of the new season, Jamie Ryder opens the scoring for VEC FC 2nds against The Local FC in the 10th minute in the Phoenix Park, only for the home team to equalize 10 minutes later with a breakaway goal. They then scored what proved to be the winner three minutes into the 2nd half to take all three Division 2 league points.
