🔹️Dunshaughlin Youths 2 - 3 VEC🔹️ VEC 1 🔹️Dunshaughlin Youths 2 - 3 VEC🔹️

VEC 1sts picked up 3 important Premier Division points in a sunny Dunshaughlin yesterday morning.

The away side put on an attacking display in the opening 45mins with wide-men Oisin Kinsella and Joe Byrne in particularly inspired form, creating chance after chance. Ben Lenehan gave VEC the lead from the spot after just 5 mins while Ois Kinsella added the 2nd and combined with James McGauran to add a 3rd before the break.

The home side were energized in the 2nd half however, as there were signs of VEC's injury ravaged 12 man squad tiring. The game opened up and there was a consistent flow of chances at both ends with disallowed goals and rattling crossbars the flavour of the day.

Dunshaughlin grabbed 2 goals in quick succession with 15 mins left on the clock and pressed on resolutely for an equalizer. VEC weathered the storm however, and even struck the woodwork one final time late-on, to add a drop more drama to what was an excellent game of football.

7 points from 9 in the league for VEC as the side looks forward to welcoming back a few bodies from injury over the coming weeks 💙🩵💙
