Boghall Rovers v VEC FC
The score was not a fair reflection on this game, as the difference was the home team taking their chances and us not capitalising on ours! Boghall’s first came from a deflected free kick in the 22nd minute: their second came from a lovely swivel, turn and volley from a corner, after we had been threatening to equalize with a few good moves. Then, when we failed to clear our lines from another set-piece with 15 minutes remaining, the third was poked in.
VEC FC v Shelbourne AFC
A spectacular strike from Shelbourne’s Ciaran O’Rourke in the 8th minute, followed by his second goal from a set piece in the 32nd minute gave the opposition a 2-0 lead, but a penalty conversion from VEC’s Oisin Kinsella 5 minutes before half time left the score at 1-2. With no further goals, we lost our first league match of the season.
Shelbourne AFC v VEC FC
Both pitches declared unplayable!
VEC FC v Atletico Malahide
Ray Jaudzems first goal of the season arrived in the 35th minute to give VEC a 1-0 lead which we held until 5 minutes from the finish when the visitors got a controversial equaliser!
Dunshaughlin Youths v VEC FC
This penalty from Ben Lenehan opened the scoring for VEC in the 5th minute, followed by this sweet strike from Oisin Kinsella in the 28th minute. James McGauran made it 3-0 two minutes later.
Two goals from the home team in the final 15 minutes made it very nervy, but we held out for all 3 points!

Losing 0-1 at half-time, after conceding a penalty in the 32nd minute, it only took 3 minutes into the second half for us to equalise, from a great 20 yard strike from Ben Lenehan.
The loss of a man from 2 yellow cards after 75 minutes didn’t help, and there were no further goals.
