🔹️Division 1 Lineup 24/25🔹️ Our newly p 🔹️Division 1 Lineup 24/25🔹️ Our newly promoted VEC side has had a strong start to life in Division One with 7 points from a possible 9 👏 Unfortunately, after 50 years in the Premier Division VEC made the tough decision to disband its first team squad this season leaving our newly promoted Division 1 side to fly the flag for the club! #vecfc #ucfl #newseason
🔹️VEC Held at Home🔹️ VEC's unbeaten sta 🔹️VEC Held at Home🔹️ VEC's unbeaten start to the campaign continued as St. Mary's held out for a hard fought point in Terenure on Saturday morning. The sides are familiar with each other after both were promoted from Division 2 last season, with St. Mary's clinching the title. However, it was the home side who came out of the traps quickly in this one, but with St.Marys staying compact and organised VEC were left frustrated during the early exchanges, looking light on ideas. As the half progressed however, VEC began to look more threatening with Pat Meghen coming closest as he was denied at point blank range by the Mary's keeper. HT 0-0 St. Mary's had battled ferociously in the first half and were a constant concern on the counter attack but the 2nd half of the game saw things opening up as concentration levels dipped. VEC began to pose a real threat - Joey Byrne rattling the crossbar from close range, followed by huge shouts for a VEC penalty also being waved away shortly after. Having twice been denied by the woodwork and the Mary's keeper proving himself the equal of most attempts on goal VEC found themselves under a 10 minute period of pressure as Mary's bombarded the box with dangerous long throw after long throw. VEC survived and regained momentum but ultimately ran out of time as the ref blew for 90mins in what was a great battle and a well deserved point for each side. FT 0-0 #UCFL #VECFC

Car Parking

For visiting teams to the ETB [VEC] Sportsgrounds in Terenure: There is an on-site car park; however on busy matchdays it fills up very quickly and the main gates of the Sportsgrounds may be closed. Limited on-street parking is available on Rathdown Park and Rathdown Avenue nearby [Watch for Clearway]. Please do not block residents and their driveways. There is also ‘Pay and Display’ bays and a public car cark in Terenure Village – all within a 5 minute walk to the ETB [VEC] Sportsgrounds.
