Mixed Day for VEC

Goals from Gary Curran (left) and Conor O'Neill gave VEC 2nds their first league win of the season with a deserved 2-1 away win against Drimnagh Celtic FC in Division 2.

Meanwhile a depleted VEC 1sts lost 3-1 to a very energetic AGP team in Lucan. The home team led 2-0 at half time after two breakaway goals on 12 and 34 minutes, but VEC pulled one back in the 67th minute through Juan Vassallo (right). A mix up in the VEC defense in the 86th minute led to an own goal which scuppered any chance of a possible draw.

Chasing the 'Treble'

In the 38th and final game of the season: another 'cup final' and chasing a remarkable 'treble', VEC FC were unlucky to lose to Harding IF 0-1, with the decisive goal coming from a direct free kick in the 87th minute.
It was only the 4th game of the season that VEC failed to score!
But what a double achievement after a great season!
